Here is the result of my pre-election testing of the mark-sense scanners
used in Miami. Note: I even tested with lavender ink (I called it
purple). The upshot is, a properly adjusted scanner will count most X
marks and has no trouble with funny ink colors. Unfortunately, the
tradition of bad ballot design continues, so the instructions on those
ballots really can be improved.
