There was that bizarre procedure that was mandated by the SOS when
funky ES&S precinct scanners were used in SF. (Extra work was done for
ballots with undervotes. There were ranked choice contests in which
the winner was a forgone conclusion so undervotes were many)

Even then, we don't have figures. It would be nice to pry the info
from SF Board of Elections about what just how many voters used
undetected ink.

Even here, the error that would result would only occur if the voter
ignores the alert from the precinct scanner.
