Might sound a bit wild, but how about learning some tips from the
recent hugely successful Mozilla Firefox campaign ? The campaign was
built up around some strategies including, but not limited to,

1. Specific websites to launch the software
2. Generating awareness through targeted blogs
3. Including like minded websites and webmasters in
     generating awareness.

Of course there is a lot of difference between a desktop browser
client utility like Firefox and a voting system aimed for niche use.
However, both are open source, hence there are some overlapping facets
also.

It might be a good idea to involve some key people in successful open
source projects such as Firefox, Open Office etc in OVC fund raising
efforts. We could use their experience and talent.
