Hi all,

I'd like to submit and report the latest updates to the BRP system. The latest
module is attached. I've begun hardwiring the logic and interaction stuff
onto the UI. Pages 1 and 2 are complete. You can follow the progress at
http://www.lcgp.info/tmp/evm/brp/

I have a *very simple* authentication system in place, using a text file for
the ACL. Attached is my test ACL. An operator and two witnesses much
authenticate to run the BRP.

I plan to have everything completed this week, and am pushing hard knowing
that I'm already behind schedule due to life and work this week so far.
Regarding what I need assistance with:

I have no problem tackling a majority of this, except for when handing the
ballots. I really haven't had a chance to examine the existing XML I/O API
yet, only having put code stubs in place in my code thus far. If someone
could simply summarize the API, that will help save me time. What would be
*extremely* helpful would be a collection of sample ballot.xml files, all
with randomly different values that I can test through the BRP.

I also need to know how the BRP will load the vote machine ballot files.
Should I have it just point to a path, assuming it will be a CD-ROM at some
point?

I have some other stuff I can't think of right now (this week has been very
busy at work), but I'll post as stuff comes up. Take a look at the code and
snapshots and let's continue the discussion on refinement.

Take care,

Eron
