Here in the library, we have a similar UI for book check-in, which allows you
to verify that a scan was input properly, without have a dialog pop-up every
time. I can do something else if decided.

Right now, I was thinking about having a load dialog pop-up once you
select /dev/cdrom/ for example. I could put it in the main window, though.

Not sure. Personally, I think the "spreadsheet" type table would be easier to
scan the values from, since they all line up. I can do a separate sample with
the alternative, fixed labels, and let everyone decide.
