I hope you all will join me in throwing your support to our new Development
Lead for the OVC demo.

Fred McLain has quite a bit of experience leading projects -- both
professionally and as a volunteer. I am confident he will do a good job and
bring this project to successful completion.

At the same time, I want to thank David Mertz for his efforts as interim Dev
Lead. He has captured the OVC vision (and refined it) and helped greatly in
articulating what we're trying to do with the demo and the overall OVC
project. I have learned to take what David says seriously because he is
usually right. I hope he will continue to provide his incisive commentary
and critiques.

Everyone wants to start on the production system. But we have to complete
the demo first. It's important for us so we can have the "lessons learned"
to apply to our production model. It's also important to show the world
that the OVC has something together that can work.

Fred, you have some challenging work cut out, but you have some great people
on board to help you. Best of luck. I will do what I can to support your

Alan D.
