From my mom, Gayle Mertz, I hear that Boulder County, Colorado is still
going through very similar shenanigans. Optical scan ballots that were
printed wrong, some given out in the wrong precincts, mis-calibrated
scanners requiring hand counts, and several local races and referenda
that are close enough that an exact count matters.

But here in Franklin County, Massachusetts, our poll workers have no
trouble hand-counting the pencil-marked ballots the same night they are
cast. Funny how much better at counting our Yankee 70 year-olds are
than those in other parts of the country :-(.
