This is unnecessary, Jim. We're not going to slow you down, and you're not
going to "run right over the top of" us. OVC is a pretty diverse group --
many accomplished people whose careers don't depend on OVC. These people
are contributing to a project they hope will lead to a better "open voting"
system. They are unlikely to see your threat as particulary meaningful.

Well, since you brought it up .... it *is* a sort of competition for
resources. I did very poorly in this regard in the three years leading up
to formally organizing OVC (DEC 00 - DEC 03). I sunk a great deal of time
and effort explaining to people in the CA Capitol building why we need paper
ballots and open source software -- especially from DEC 00 to 9-11-01. It
was some months after 9-11 before I was able to even discuss the issue with
any opinion leaders.

We have done slightly better in the last year. We've done better than ever
in the last week, and I thank you for your initiative in helping to get the
ball rolling.
