I agree Arthur. However Bev Harris is a kook to suggest returning to
handcounted paper ballots and is hurting the cause of obtaining decent
voting systems by hogging the limelight and making all of us fighting to
prevent the adoption of horrible voting systems look like kooks too.

On the other hand, I have in the days since the election put together a
team of atleast 24 statisticians including professors of many reputable
universities from California to England to study the pattern of election
tallies: Here is our aim as I've proposed it (and I hope you will endorse
our aim):

AIM:
To plan and execute the statistical analysis and look for patterns in
elections results and other data that might indicate possible election
rigging/hacking/errors and test the methods we devise by providing
evidence for lawyers to use to request recounts under the FOI act, so that
by the 2006 election we have a statistical system in place to pinpoint
election anomalies that indicate when candidates would be well advised to
ask for recounts prior to conceding.
ENDAIM:

I hope to be able to do this down to the precinct level by 2006.

I have collected seven measures to use and have already pinpointed several
FL counties that I think we can show in court to a reasonable person need
to be recounted (not enough to change the election results but to prove
our methods) to use thus far. It is a HUGE project and I need help.

It should go hand and hand with OVC's efforts and OVC has already
benefited from financial contributions through the interest in my huge
project that I "really" need a business manager and an assistant for
yesterday.

Kathy
