It may seem silly, but it worked exactly the way I hoped it would work. We
received more subscriptions than one-time donations, while, previously,
one-time donations out numbered subscriptions 10 to 1.

No. We don't want to remove the donate button. We discussed this at some
length earlier. I had actually removed it and David Mertz insisted that we
have a way for people to make the one time donation.

I'm glad figured out a way to enable the one-time donation without making it
too obvious. We've raised over a thousand dollars that way.
