It's a good idea, Mason, to look through some of the old mailing list
discussion. The above (or your other note) doesn't contain anything new
to the project.

If you'd like to volunteer to work on creating DTDs (Anand has done
some), that would be useful (but I don't believe they are essential at
this point). No W3C XML Schemas, please; they are just too cumbersome,
and not needed for this (I might be persuaded to go with RELAX NG
though).

The signature and security issues--which will be addressed
POST-DEMO--are being led by Dr.Amit Sahai (though I've made some initial
proposals, months back); but there's a lot more in there that simply
"should use signatures."

Likewise, from your other note, the issue of when and whether to
aggregate XML data has been well discussed. At least personally, I have
not seen any advantage proposed for the aggregation (other than fitting
some people's aesthetic, though not other people's).
