We have added 8 new members in the last couple of days. They all are very
experienced software people. These include Lou Montulli and Amit Sahai.
Lou is one of the Internet pioneers http://montulli.org/lou/ Amit is a CS
professor at Princeton and an expert in cryptography.
http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~sahai/ Also, we have on board Gene Mosher of
http://www.viewtouch.com Gene is a pioneer in the creation of GUIs (vector
based, no pictures!) for touchscreen monitors (especially restaurants).

It is a privledge to have all these new members -- this should give the
project a nice boost. I don't expect this nice development to change plans
for the demo very much, but I think this will help launch the development of
the production system in a big way.

For now, I am asking the new members to help in any way they see fit. They
might consider this message from the 12th (and look at the follow up
messages in the thread):

Nine leaders are identified there with various components of the EVM2003
project. New members might want to look at areas that interest them and
contact the leads directly to see what needs doing. I think Matt needs help
big time right now. David could use some help -- Charles too. Jan could
probably use some help but he seems to have things under control. These
needs are immediate! We will make a go/no-go decision next Wednesday
regarding whether or not we'll demonstrate the system in the first week in
Dec (most likely the 4th or 5th).
