Voting conference in DC

Don't we want to get somebody to this conference? We certainly
want to get our message to all of the organizations and speakers
participating. Rep. Jesse Jackson, jr. will give the keynote
speech. Other participants include Ralph Nader and people from
Common Cause and NAACP.

Featured debate on "Should Touchscreen Voting Machines Require a
Paper Trail?" With Barbara Simons (Co-Chair, US Public Policy
Committee of ACM) and Marc Rotenberg to debate defenders of
current touchscreens, including Jim Dickson of American
Association of People with Disabilities. Moderated by Marc
Steiner of Baltimore Public Radio Station WYPR.

Claim Democracy Conference

 The Center has brought together a large coalition of
pro-democracy groups to support and participate in a major
conference at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center on November
22-23. Claim Democracy: Securing, Enhancing and Exercising the
Vote is the centerpiece of the Center's new Democracy USA
initiative.
