Voter choices and perforated ballots!

My mind has been going in an entirely different track on this.

What about the idea that verification of voting can be
hugely simplified if the vote choices display just
shows you what you voted - and labels them with
capital letters next to each one - e.g.

Fred Smith - A
John Deat - C
Bill Willis - E
Frank Mark - G

etc. Parties could advertize their platforms - Vote A, C, E, G

and the optical scanning would be trivial - pulling off the codes,
ditto printing out your vote summary ballot.

Is this good?
