Nah... I can't support this idea. Since we (fortunately) do not have
Ed's fancied biometric IDs, how exactly are we supposed to verify the
"true name" of list members?

I'm at least as annoyed by Drew Johnson's (JamBoi) behavior as is
anyone here. But I don't think requiring a name that sounded more
"real" would have prevented it. What's to stop him (or someone like
him) from emailing Arthur and saying: "My name is John Drewson, and I
want to join the mailing list." (maybe that really *is* his name, for
all I know). I hardly want Arthur to start checking birth certificates
or passports for list membership.

But then, I post many places under the handle "Lulu of the
Lotus-Eaters", so maybe that gives my greater affection for fanciful
names. However, I never claimed that I was being stalked by my
enemies, and must not reveal my other name, 'David' (I have been
"outed" from time to time, when *shocked* people discover by birth
surname isn't really "of the Lotus-Eaters").

For that matter, it took me a while before I connected "dr-jekyll" with
Kurt Hyde. His return email header never seems to indicate the name
'Kurt'. But he's hardly hiding anything, and is a valuable OVC'er.

Yours, Lulu...
