General Civility and side channels

Hello All:

I've very excited about what's going on at OVC. I feel like we've shifted into a newer and higher gear. The amount and intensity of communications that I've been receiving has been great. We're all dedicated professionals here with many diverse gifts and skills. It truly is a privilege to be included in your conversations. I've noticed that when there is a surge of communications like this in any collective effort that it becomes harder to understand each other. I'd like to request that we try and keep the tone of communications civil. If you feel slighted or misunderstood by someone, perhaps you could write them directly? Sometimes this sort of side channel communication can be franker than the general list conversations and may do a lot more to clear the air between people than a public dispute. HTH
