Hello All:
In volunteering to be a poll worker, I was able to question a person in the San Diego County's Registrar of Voters office about what they were planning to do for the general election. They said that they were planning to use an optical scanning system and that they had not yet figured at what level of local jurisdiction they were going to be doing the scanning. When I asked if they had a performance guarantee with Diebold she said they though they did but said she couldn't discuss it much. She did speculate that everything should be worked out by 2006.
Thanks, Ed Kennedy
