There's a saying among Pythonistas:

   Python is executable pseudo-code;
   Perl is executable line-noise.

Of course, it *is* said among Pythonistas, not among Perl mongers...
but the Perl folks don't claim the reverse, they find other benefits in
their favorite language (like TMTOWTDI, in contrast to Python's
TOOWTDI... use the google).

Still... APL is certainly even more line-noise like than Perl is.
