It's fairly well known that Bev gets a few technical details wrong from
time-to-time. In her book, she even indirectly dissed the OVC with some
inaccurate information regarding barcodes (ch 15).

Overall, she has the story straight. Whether or not rigged DREs have been
certified (I don't think they have), the process as it is would certainly be
incapable of detecting a cleverly rigged paperless system. Nobody expects
Bev to explain this as perfectly as Avi Rubin.

Bev has done a great job for the overall cause. Next to David Dill, I can't
think of anyone that comes close to her in bringing this issue to the
public. Dill doesn't get everything right either, although his mistakes
would not be in the same category as Bev's mistakes. He once insisted that
my system was a DRE. Early on, he really didn't understand the complexities
of "adding a printer to a DRE." He has learned a lot has he has gone along.
Bev has been learning too. We're all learning.

Rather than dis Bev Harris, it would be more productive to help her refine
her rap when it comes to technical details.
