Right, but many DRE vendors use specific make and model and
request minimal recertification when they change make and model.
So, for example, all of the Avante machines I am aware of are
simple shells built around a pretty generic HP laptop plus
an off-the-shelf receipt printer and an off-the-shelf UPS.
The whole shebang except for the vacuum formed shell is
COTS, so if you have to dispose of your inventory, it has pretty
good resale value.
