replying to my own e-mail, the above suggestion might allow for a partial reconstruction of the order ballots were cast which previous threads have considered bad. Not the reconstruction is not assured or likely to be perfect and thus might still be worth considering. Interlocking paper is simply a better-ballot proposal that makes mishandling the paper ballots harder. Also I think the tone of my note might have come off as unintentionally pedantic and lecturing. Sorry: it was late and I was just being terse.
