Hearing on Election Problems Friday, March 7

Here's is information on an important press conference Thurs in Sacramento, and hearing in Los Angeles on Friday. I think it's important we let them know there are alternatives they should be looking at.

SACRAMENTO - Three legislative committees that address election policy will conduct a joint hearing in Los Angeles Friday, March 7, to review problems faced by California voters during the Feb. 5, 2008 Presidential Primary election.
 

Friday's hearing also will be the topic of a press conference Thursday, March 6, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Room 1190 of the State Capitol. Thursday's Sacramento press conference will review the planned agenda and the legislative goals for Friday's hearing.

Friday's rare joint hearing by three committees is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Ronald Reagan State Office Building Auditorium, located at 300 South Spring St., Los Angeles.

 

Attending both events will be Sen. Ron Calderon, D-Montebello, chair of the Senate Elections Committee; Jenny Oropeza, D-Long Beach, chair of the Senate Select Committee on Integrity of Elections; and Asm. Curren Price, D-Inglewood, chair of the Assembly Elections Committee.

 

Elections experts statewide are expected to attend Friday's hearing.
