David, do you know how (and where) the numbers are fixed on the unit? Is
the serial number on a plate? Painted on? This might mean that the number
has been removed (not encouraging). eBay has a policy prohibiting sale of
"goods that have altered or removed serial numbers."

If, in fact, the serial number has been removed, I'll inform eBay to pull
the listing.
