My understanding is that video editing software can fairly easily remove
those durations where a given slide is displayed, and that it can insert
a substitute slide during the same duration. Of chop off the whole end,
and insert new slides.

Of course, I don't personally own such software, nor know how to use it.
So if not Doug, someone else who knows what they're doing should make
such a change (once there's agreement on what changes to make... I'll
sit this discussion out, I trust Alan, Arthur, and whomever). Just let
me know if you create a substitute small & medium movie to upload to
gnosis.cx.
