Summary Ballot
Dictated Ballot
Voter Preference Ballot
Abstracted Ballot

maybe with word optimal flaoting in there. Whatever the adjectives, Ballot has to be the noun.

I certainly understand and agree with Alan's intent in identifying a
distinct term for the ballot in our system. Falling under--or
creating--relevant standards is important.

But the word "reduced" to me suggests either, (1) photo-reduction, as
in transferring to microfilm, or maybe like the tiny
four-pages-to-a-page print of my OED; or (2) reduction of the
contests/issues on a ballot--as if we only printed the most important
contests, not the piddly judicial retentions or the like.

I wonder if we could choose a better descriptive term before pushing
it. To emphasize the representation only of selections, we could call

   Optimized Paper Ballot

But I think the non-listing of non-selected candidates is not the
central issue (which "reduced" also seems to suggest, even putting
aside the above wrong insinuations). Maybe more like:

   Machine Generated Paper Ballot


   Voter Initiated Paper Ballot
   Vote Selection Paper Ballot

I don't want to go into a long thread about this, and will go with the
wrong-seeming name if that's what others like. But if we're going to
get a term written into laws, maybe we can get one with a more accurate
