On this point they fall down a bit. We saw their system at CFP 2004
(www.cfp2004.org ). I asked if the audio verification actually read the
ballot. The first salesman (a woman, actually) wasn't too sure but said she
thought so. The more senior salesman admitted that it didn't really read
the ballot: it played a list of selections the voter made but it wasn't
really reading from the ballot. In other words, it's not really ballot
verification.
