Hi all,

I have been informed by David Jefferson that the CA Voting Systems and
Procedures Panel has picked the following tentative dates for its next

They will be on three successive Mondays, July 12, 19, and 26.

Please note that these are still only tentative. We will let you know
as soon as agendas have been posted, at least 30 days prior to the
meetings. The agenda items will most likely be the re-certification
of specific DRE voting machines for November.

The VSP will also need to review its proposed systems and procedures
standards for 2005 and beyond quite soon. This will be complicated by
not knowing if the pending federal legislation, HR 2239, S 1980, etc.,
will be passed.

Please also note that Shelley has posted the R & G Associates report on
voting machines in the 41 non-Diebold counties, including the non-DRE
systems that also are using systems that have not been federally
qualified. I think it will be important to study this report before
sending letters in support of your positions to the VSP.
