Elections and patents

Joe,

Actually the reverse. Its positively rife with patent
possiblities - to the stupid n-th degree. We are
going to see a huge wave of patent awards
breaking here within two years.

Every wacko out there with an idea to peddle is
patenting it - audio recording, video recording,
eye iris movements, biometrics, encryption,
even the clicks and taps used to sequence
vote choices on screens, not to mention
the process and steps in recording and counting
votes electronically - its all up for grabs.

This is what I've been trying to get through to
people already. It's like watching the wild west
all over again. Snake oil salesmen, railroad
barons, landgrabbing and stakeouts
(aka patents), phony authorities, and
lawlessness and lack of due process and
procedure.

EAC and GAO need to stand up and stop this
nonsense and establish clear processes and
procedures that are open and public and use
methods that are clear, precise and
trustworthy - aka OVC / TLV / EML - esque.

The VVSG needs to grow up and lay down
this clearly - right now its a barn-door that
you can float an ocean liner through,
sideways.

Do not hold your breathe!

DW
