Re: Vendor "participation"

Arthur,

My take on this is that I want an open marketplace.

So in the context of OASIS EML and OVC - I want
to see an "anyone can play" environment driven
by public open source and open specifications.

This enables vendors to integrate public open source
libraries developed as part of OVC / EML / other
efforts and create solutions that should be
compatible.

It specifically precludes vendors who want to own
the marketplace and force people to license some
technology they claim exclusive IPR over.

So I'm very happy to see vendors joining who
want to work in a spirit of open collaboration so
everyone wins and collectively we develop
better solutions that are contributed to the better
good. Their business model should be built
around providing services and value, not on
ownership and restrictive licensing.
