1. I do believe that Bev Harris has made valuable contributions in
the fight against proprietary and insecure voting systems. I don't
agree with her focus on an all/only paper ballot system without any
computerized counting. But I do strongly believe that she should
have the right to express any opinion she cares to have, as long as
it is not libelous or slandering.

2. I also take this opportunity to acknowledge that Jim March
encouraged me and others to move forward with the concept of an open
source central tabulation system. I had talked about that months
ago, but my efforts (and I think those of others in OVC) in this area
started in earnest with Jim March's encouragement.
