It's there, on line 186:

  self.pid = os.spawnl(mode, "/usr/local/bin/qtplay", "qtplay", file)

Try changing it to:

  self.pid = os.spawnl(mode, "/usr/local/bin/qtplay", "qtplay", "-q", file)
