16 hours is not enough?

if the power goes down or surges the screens might go dark till the
backup power source kicks in but the palm keeps running. If a voting
computer goes down it has to be rebooted. There are laws about how
computers are to be booted for elections. Makes for complications.

instead of having backup batteries for the screens you could just have
a honda generator. No need for instant on, power backup, with the
screens. all you care about is keeping th cpu booted.
