Oh yeah, another example comes to mind showing how technology helps shape
election law. There are some regulations about paper characteristics for
ballots. This is largely driven by what paper works best for high-speed
scanners. Some flimsy paper might jam more easily and the ballot mutilated.
This is election code that is very specific to hand-marked optical scan
paper ballots.
