Conferences upcoming -- we need to do more!

Two of our great OVC project supporters/participants, Fred McLain (Dev Lead
on demo) and Richard Dawson (original author of ACR 242), independently
brought to my attention two conferences we need to cover. Richard mentioned
the SCALE conference (So. California) -- it's too late to get a gig there
but I think it's important enough we should attend:

OSCON (Portland, OR) is a big deal and we need to participate. Our
presentation there last year was well-received. We need to submit something
by Feb 5.

Since I was invited to keynote the Red Hat Summit (May 9-11, San Diego CA
http://gnosis.python-hosting.com/voting-project/January.2007/0059.html ), I
have also been invited to hold a workshop. The workshop will be something
about how promoting open source for elections also helps to introduce
government people to open source in general.

We need to leverage our conference experience to gain more acceptance and
support for OPEN VOTING.

So, I am asking people to,

1) Attend and help coordinate our appearance at the SCALE conference
2) Help get done what is needed for OSCON
3) Give me ideas and such for our Red Hat workshop
4) Identify other conferences where we should be showing up

Thanks.

Alan D.
