Resignation from OVC Board

I have resigned as Board Secretary and as a member of the board of
the Open Voting Consortium as of today's OVC Board meeting. I
believe that in my term on the board, the OVC has accomplished many
of our goals. I also resign from the OVC Board to remove a potential
conflict of interest for my future work on voting systems at UC Santa
Cruz.

The election of Debra Bowen as the new California Secretary of State
and the readily apparent problems in the 2006 election added new
impetus to our efforts. Her election, and her appointment of Lowell
Finley, give great promise for the future of election integrity in
California and the nation.

We are on the threshold of success. Open Voting Solutions is now
selling open source voting systems. And San Francisco is requiring
public disclosure of voting system software as part of a voting
system procurement process.

There is still more work to be done, and I am glad that there are
others who will also contribute their efforts towards election
integrity. I hope that the collective efforts of the election
integrity movement will be as effective, successful, and harmonious
as possible.

Best regards,
Arthur Keller
