You are right. I should have said properly or cleanly designed
voter-marked ballot. I support the use of ballot marking devices for
those who prefer them arbitrarily as well as those who need to use them
due to disability, non-English language, or illiteracy.

I don't believe that votes should be disqualified if the obvious intent
of the voter is clear.
