I'm at Santa Cruz. They are at Berkeley.
Also, I do not believe that our papers ever mentioned the
pre-rendering of the images, so there was no scholarly publication to
cite.
It was not clear at the time that the decision to use a pre-rendered
image that was made other than for expediency reasons.
