This is hitting the mainstream media now. That article emphasized
that the commission prefers Optical scan.

Thus OVC needs to welcome the audibility message but also try to get
some press focus on three other aspects

1) That OVC is different. it's is a touch screen but not the kind
NIST pillories.
2) That the overlooked thing here is that the EAC has gotten stacked
with industry insiders since De Soaries resigned and they have
already suppressed and ignored similar reports
3) That because the HAVA funds are gone, state funds spent, and
clerks in indebted on revolving credit, there's not going to be an
easy way to buy wholly new systems. But one way out of this
connundrum is to seed some investment into OVC which has the
capability of creating a much less expensive business model. Thus
the total replacement costs could be greatly reduced. If nothing
else seeding OVC will likely stimulate industry competition and
reduced prices.
