Front Door Plan

We have two big milestones coming up (announcement about OVC formation, and
the demo). We have a lot of work to do to get our web site (Front Door) in
shape.

I want to build on the excellent work that Charles Cleveland has done so
far. For this, we need to bring together a team and a little structure.

We've decided to have Laird Popkin serve as interim lead for OVC web site
development. We haven't had any real graphic artists on board but we will
very soon. As of the first of January, Chris Gates will take over as chief
web master for the Open Voting Consortium. Chris is a graphic artist who
also happens to be passionate about voting system reform.

To get an idea of his work, see

Among his many projects, he did a nice demo of IRV.

(this is not to imply that we are promoting IRV. Our software will be IRV
enabled because we will support all scoring methods in use)

The web site development team looks like this:

Laird Popkin -- interim lead
Chris Gates -- Chief Webmaster (or maybe some other appropriate title)
Charles Cleveland
Alex Burgel -- databases
Thomas Belote
Matteo Giacomazzi

Some of the things we need added right away include a FAQ page (Karl
Auerbach, FAQ editor, needs to get in gear for this) and an "About Us" page.
We need to collect profiles (picture and bio -- few paragraphs, whatever)
for all the directors and Founding Members.
