Hi Ed, Yes - "parallel elections" are not scientific and misdirect
valuable resources. At best, they might on occasion collect more
affadavits of votes than were actually counted, but that is unlikely.
The parallel election effort in CA is led by Judy Alter, who made claims
regarding her own investigations that are unsupported by her own data
and who often does not think logically, although her investigations have
been valuable. I first heard the idea of parallel elections proposed by
Lynn Landes who has used her websites and columns to attack scientific
and mathematical efforts to reform our elections and who opposes
absentee or overseas voting. It is too bad that these folks mislead so
many and waste resources that could be effectively used to restore
accurate democratic elections nationwide.

If only folks like Lynn and Judy would instead encourage folks to donate
and volunteer to help real implementable solutions like the the Open
Voting Consortium, or the National Election Data Archive, which need
help so desparately from marketing and fundraising types so that we
could fix our broken election systems.
