For a few thousand dollars anyone can buy a card that plugs into a computer that will read the screen on another computer in the vicinity. Even through most walls. Add to that a high gain antenna and the range is longer. This technology has long been available for the old CRTs. And some researchers in the Netherlands demonstrated they could monitor the voting on the most popular voting machine over there (which used an LED or plasma readout. LCD screen were allegedly harder to read).

There may be ways to harden the screens against this.
