Don't worry Ed. I definitely won't suggest any definition that
confuses Free Software with Public Domain.

However, you should notice that Public Domain *does* meet the
definition of Free Software. See:

But PD is a strict subset of FS, not the whole thing.

I don't quite believe that personally. If I did, I wouldn't release all
my software (and much writing) to the Public Domain. But I'm acutely
aware of the distinctions between licensing terms, and would not
suggest any fuzzy equivocations in the area.
