For the record, I've lent Alan money so he can devote time and energy
on this effort. I do not intend to be paid for my time or reimbursed
for my expenses by the OVC as long as there is a proposal pending or
a current funded project for UCSC on this or related work that will
or could fund my work. I shall not double dip. As the prospective
Principal Investigator for the University of California project, I
shall recuse myself formally from the decision by the University of
California to choose a subcontractor or the decision of the amount of
the subcontractor's funding. Prof. Pat Mantey of UCSC will make
those decisions. Eventually and over time, I hope that Alan will be
able to pay me the money I've personally lent him.

Best regards,
Arthur
